SPARK Motorsports Racing Team made its way to Sepang International Circuit with much enthusiasm but a series of unfortunate events led to its withdrawal from the race.
The series of unlucky events that plagued the SPARK Motorsports racing team's weekend began before the first official practice session where showers of evening rain began to pour. This unexpected rainfall impeded our race driver from having any self-practice sessions.
After the rain has stopped, the first official practice session rolled in. Our race driver recorded a perfect launch where the drag machine leaped out from the start line. However, approximately 3 seconds after this perfect launch, to our dismay, the former champion drag machine made a slow procession throughout the remaining track.
Once back at the pit, SPARK Motorsports Racing Team diagnosed that our primary drag machine has a damaged engine and we had to withdraw from the race.
It is disappointing as the team worked their tails off for this race. We have fast enough race car and that made it even more frustrating because we know we could have finished up front.
We are sorry to all of our supporters and sponsors. Nevertheless, we would like to use this opportunity to assure them that we will learn from this mistake and will emerge stronger in future races.
