The highly anticipated and well-received Sepang Drag Battle 2009 Series returned for another round of adrenalin rush at the Sepang International Circuit on 21st to 22nd November 2009.

It was at this event that saw SPARK Motorsports – LTM Performance took home its first trophy together in the 400m drag race.

In total, there were over 40 cars participating in all categories and 9 cars under Category A in this Round 5 of the Sepang Drag Battle 2009 Series. Cars and racers alike were pushed to the limits as they attempted to clock the very best timings.

Though there was a drizzle, it could not dampen the high spirits and fiery enthusiasm of eager supporters who flocked to the paddocks to get up close with the various powerfully modified racing gems.

The SPARK Motorsports paddock was filled with a steady stream of spectators who were mesmerized by the completely rebuilt Subaru WRX fortified with engine internals from Cosworth – Formula One engine manufacturer.

Driven by racing veteran, Sky Teck, the powerful dragster in its first-ever race, fought its way through the qualifying rounds. At the concluding battle, the duo met their final competitor – Suhaimi Shukor and his prized machine converted with a Mitsubishi EVO engine block. The atmosphere was heavy and everything was at a standstill as supporters from both teams watched the ultimate combat with abated breath. Cheers and whistles broke the silence when SPARK Motorsports – LTM Performance swept the champion position with a record of 11.9 seconds in wet condition.

This is SPARK Motorsports – LTM Performance first victory together and in its maiden race!
